The Leftist Assembly is a pan-leftist region in NationStates. It was founded on 14 January 2016 as a merger of The Communist Region and the Democratic Socialist Union. It is a member of the NSLeft, a left-wing interregional bloc that is the largest alliance in NationStates, and it is one of the largest and most active User-Created Regions in the game.

The Supreme Court is the judiciary of the region. It consists of three Standing Justices and one Alternate Justice appointed by the Secretary and approved by the region. The body internally elects one of its Standing Justices as Chief Justice, whereafter the remaining two Standing Justices are also known as Minor Justices.

The region has a very young population, with 56.3% of the region aged 19 years old or younger, and another 31.8% aged between 20 and 24 years old.
Ideological affiliations are broad across the spectrum of left-wing politics in the region, with 42.1% identifying with democratic socialism, followed by anarchism with 36.4%, libertarian socialism with 29.9%, and Marxism with 29.0%.
Most citizens reside in predominantly English-speaking countries, with 37.8% in the United States, followed by 8.1% in the United Kingdom, and 3.6% in both Australia and Canada. The major non-English-speaking countries represented in the region are Italy, India, and Poland with 3.6% each, while the remaining 36.0% reside elsewhere.
The main non-English languages spoken by citizens are Spanish with 17.4%, French and German with 11.0% each, and Russian with 9.2%.
