The March 2018 general election was the eighth general election in The Leftist Assembly and voting was held from 11 to 14 March 2018. The General Assembly, the unicameral legislature of The Leftist Assembly, consists of the Secretary, Prime Minister and a floating number of Senators dependent on the WA population (7 at this election).
The nations elected to the General Assembly were Cedoria as Secretary, Kavagrad as Prime Minister, and Halfblakistan, Hecknamistan, Llorens, Morvan, New Arkados, Nottinhaps, and VegemiteIsGross as Senators.

Voting[edit | edit source]
To be eligible to vote, a nation must be part of the World Assembly and reside in The Leftist Assembly. The voter numbers each of the candidates in order of their preference on a Google Forms document.
Counting[edit | edit source]
The election moderators were Cedoria, South Miruva, and New Prague Workers Republic. The first step to counting the votes is comparing each candidate head-to-head with the 'Seek other' option. If the candidate does not receive more votes than it, it is eliminated. If the number of candidates remaining is less than the positions available, all are elected and a subsequent by-election is held to fill the vacancies. If the number of candidates remaining is equal to the positions available, all are elected and no more action is required. If the number of candidates remaining is more than the positions available, then the single transferable voting system and the Hare quota are used to determine the winners.
