Secretary New Samon was elected on 14 June 2021, and the Cabinet confirmation vote concluded on 22 June 2021. Following the passage of the Splitting Elections legislative package by the [[22nd General Assembly]] on 18 July 2021, specifically the Election Amendment (Splitting Packages), the debate period of newly-separated Secretarial elections was shortened from 7 to 4 days, shortening the term of the 1st New Samon Cabinet with the earlier [[September 2021 Secretarial election|election]] of the [[2nd Greylyn Cabinet]] on 11 September 2021.
